Overview

At EOS Dublin we believe that new ways of working will build upon those which have worked for centuries. Trade fair, value your customers, what goes around comes around. New technology is always fun, but its application impacts people’s lives. We can’t predict what the future will hold, but will work as hard as we can to make sure it works for everyone.

Architecture

We are working hard behind the scenes to deliver the most robust and agile architecture we can. We have participated in multiple BP peer reviews and will be using findings to help serve the wider community. Ireland is an essential location for a block producer, a stable environment which leading technology companies have called home for decades.

Security

At EOS Dublin, we believe that security is one of the biggest responsibilities and greatest challenges for a block producer. In this day and age where daily reports of attacks and breaches are commonplace, we want to ensure that we are doing everything we can to remain ahead. We also believe that any audits of our infrastructure should be performed by independent and accredited third parties.

EOS Dublin have been working with SECFORCE, one of the UK’s leading independent security consulting companies. Specialising in simulated target attacks, SECFORCE will be able to simulate an attack on our infrastructure without us having to wait for one, identifying any potential issues. This helps us sleep at night and allows us to demonstrate that our infrastructure is rock solid.  SECFORCE also runs red-team exercises against us. They employ tactics such as social engineering to try and gain access to our systems.

As a CREST and CBEST approved organisation, SECFORCE were involved in workshops held by the Bank of England to help define the STAR and CBEST schemes. In addition, they are ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 compliant.

EOS Dublin are partnering with SecForce to provide constant security audits, helping us keep ahead of the curve when it comes to new security.

Infrastructure

Our primary node is running in a data centre in Ireland.
Our Secondary node is running in a data centre in Ireland.
Our Tertiary node is running in Azure.

We use two independent Irish data centres with a third backup running Azure in the cloud. A single failover simply isn’t enough. If we need to take a node offline for a few hours for maintenance, we have a double backup plan.
